Though we're still a few days away, the Olympics festivities officially started for me last night when my wife and I, along with a few friends, headed down to Holland Park for the Olympic torch ceremony. We were not prepared for the amount of people that showed up! I don't know what the official count was, but I'm guessing around 15,000 people. Clearly, the people of Surrey are pumped for the Olympic games, and I'm one of them. Though it was a bit uncomfortable standing and waiting for the torch to arrive amidst the throngs of excited citizens, it was worth it. What a rush when Daniel Igali ran through the crowd for the final leg of the day. Much ado about a flame... love it. I might even head down to Vancouver to catch another glimpse.
