I love being motivated and inspired. Who doesn't? Books and movies can sometimes be just the extra push you need to drive you towards your goals. Maybe one day I'll do a roundup of movies and books that inspired me the most. But today I want to talk about short web videos.
In my busy schedule I don't often have the time to watch a feature length film or read fiction. That's where video sharing sites come in handy. So much good stuff out there, and I know I don't need to tell you that. The second most popular search engine is not Yahoo or Bing, it's Youtube. So amidst your daily dose of funny cat videos, epic fails and viral memes, why not intersperse some positive motivation?
Because I wanted to start off 2010 on as positive a note as I could, I actively sought out lots of inspiring videos. Rather than listing them all here, I'd like to direct you towards two great round-ups.
The first is Jonathan Fields' 37 Videos That Will Blow Your Mind and Inspire Renegade Action. If your into the personal development thing, you've probably seen most of them already. I've embedded one, a TED Talk I had not previously seen, here:
Beautiful talk. I love TED. One can spend all his/her time at TED's site alone and have a lifetime's worth of profound thoughts to snack on.
The second post was on Tim Ferris' Four Hour Workweek Blog, 15 Real World Lifestyle Design Case Studies. All from lifestyle designers in praise of Tim's methods. Even if you're not a fan of Tim or The Four Hour Workweek (I most certainly am), there's still plenty of value here for you.
I found this one most entertaining:
Ki’une's from Vancouver too. I should look him up, he seems like a cool guy.
Here's another from Tim's post. This one I found the most informative of the bunch:
I hope you take some time out of your busy days and check out some of these inspiring videos. If those posts missed any really good ones, let me know. I can never get enough.
